Jeremy Dein QC successfully overturns extended sentence

Jeremy Dein QC successfully overturned an extended sentence before the Court of Appeal, Criminal Division, on a renewed Application for Leave to Appeal against Sentence. Instructed by Malik Aldieri, of JD Spicer, and despite Leave to Appeal having been refused, the court agreed with the submission that the imposition of an extended sentence was wrong in principle. Nicholas Griffiths' sentence was substituted  with a determinate period, meaning that time to be served was reduced by 50 percent
