Kalisher Essay Prize Winner - Nick Murphy

Chambers is delighted to announce that Nick Murphy, a third-six pupil in chambers, has won the Kalisher Trust Essay Prize 2016. The prize was presented by the Attorney General at the annual Kalisher Trust Lecture, held at the Old Bailey on 18 October.
Nick was asked to answer the question ‘A Judge summing up in a criminal trial should only give directions of law and a route to verdict; it is not necessary or desirable to sum up the evidence’ – Discuss.’
