LCCSA Conference Madrid 2015 3rd-4th October

25 Bedford Row was delighted to be asked to sponsor the 2015 conference of the London Criminal Courts Solicitors Association (LCCSA).  Held in Madrid, it was attended by over 75 delegates and members of chambers provided presentations as part of the conference programme.

Jeremy Dein QC in a session entitled The Crown Court Trial in 2015: A Practical Update, provided an invaluable insight into modern judicial case management and the Criminal Procedure Rules. 

That item was complemented by a popular session on the impact of the Leveson Review by Colin Wells  which included a discussion of how the changes recommended in the review will be implemented and to what effect.

Rudi Fortson QC  offered an expert overview of the new Psychoactive Substances Bill 2015.  His work on the subject has been cited by the respected All-Party Parliamentary Group for Drug Policy Reform in preparation for the passage and implementation of the bill, which is presently before the House of Commons awaiting its second reading.
