Rudi Fortson QC successfully defends shop owner on Misuse of Drugs Act charges

Prosecutors had alleged that Mr Abbas had supplied and possessed with intention to supply a product called 'Formula X', said to contain a banned substance typically known as '5APB' which was designated a Class B drug in June last year. Rudi made representations  that it could not be  conclusively proved, to the required criminal standard, that the substance was a controlled drug rather than another similar substance.
Rudi Fortson QC has written and lectured extensively on issues relating to psycho-active substances. His work has been cited by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Drug Policy Reform, and in parliamentary debates concerning the imminent Psychoactive Substances Bill 2015.
