Trial of former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos collapses

Jeremy Dein QC makes the first ever successful application to stay in a case of non-state agent entrapment. Following cross-examination of under cover journalist Mazher Mahmood ("the fake sheikh"), the Recorder of Westminster concluded that "there were strong grounds for believing Mr Mahmood had told lies" and that he had been exposed manipulating evidence to the detriment of Tulisa Contostavlos. As a consquence Mr Mahmood has immediately been suspended from his job as undercover journalist with The Sunday Times.
