Allison Hochhalter
Allison began her First Six Pupillage in October 2024 under the supervision of Dominic Thomas.
Allison was awarded the Ann Goddard Scholarship from Gray's Inn. This scholarship, based on the legacy of HHJ Ann Felicity Goddard, supports pupils who are committed to building a practice at the publicly funded Bar.
Before commencing pupillage, Allison worked as a paralegal at Sonn Macmillan Walker, supporting a wide range of criminal, regulatory, and asset recovery matters. She assisted on cases at all stages of litigation, from pre-charge representations to CCRC applications.
Allison's LLM concentrated on human rights topics. Her research essay analysed the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and was awarded a Distinction. Alongside her legal studies, Allison volunteered with the Intervene Project, which provides free legal advice to incarcerated people and assists in civil claims for mistreatment suffered while serving custodial sentences.
Allison comes to the Bar from a previous career in finance for one of the world's largest technology companies.
